I wandered into a local music store to grab a couple of E strings when I saw this axe out of the corner of my eye. The Tele shape attracted me (being a traditionalist!) and the idea of it being a hybrid acoustic/electric. When I plugged it in and played it, I was unexpectedly surprised at the tone and playability of the guitar. For the money, I planning the frets would cut my fingers open as I slid up and down the fretboard...but, No! Smooth frets. ONE PIECE mahogany neck and flawless fitting and finish. So I went home to research this axe, but may possibly find little if any reviews. Hence my 2-cents worth here. I went back and bought the thing numerous days later and have used it on numerous gigs since then. Plenty loud preamp (this type apparently also used in one or more models of Breedlove AE guitars), nice detente in the middle of the slide controls, uses very little juice from the battery (it's "on" whenever it's plugged in, so don't keep it plugged in when not playing it!), and sounds fine through the same Fender Hot Rod Deluxe iii that I play my Strat and Tele through. I did discover some time later that apparently there are good ones and bad ones coming over from China where they are made. They are QC inspected here in the USA, but you have to play the one you're going to buy or risk having to send one or more back until you get a "good one." But for the price, it's worth the trouble when you irrevocably get the right one. You will have to do your own neck adjustment to set it to the string height you want (no bridge saddles, just an ivoroid one piece saddle)but once that's done, it's ready to go. The tuners are adequate and have a 1/19 ratio, with smooth turning. I paid $250 US for mine, new with no case or gig bag. It is WELL worth the money to pay even $350 for it. Frankly, it's the only Chinese made axe I've seen in the past numerous years that merits consideration. It is a low-end guitar, but the workmanship is surprisingly good, the tone is excellent, and the playability is excellent as well. I've been playing 45 years, and I know a good one when I see it, name and brand notwithstanding. The black ones are more abundant to buy than the natural finish, which I have. AND they have a lifetime warranty for repair or replacement. What's not to like?

jazzerjohnNice signal, be fond of a nylon guitar. Gentle, clear signal. The phones' output is usefull. Nice refined. I had an apx700, water supply, I think this guitar is better, thinner, lighter, with a signal pretty lukewarm.
