First the bad, the guitar out of the box required a serious setup. After bringing it up to concert pitch it needed a pretty aggressive truss rod adjustment and a bit taken out of the weigh down (about 1/64")and a bit on the nut (also about 1/64"). The good, just about everything else. Once set up properly (and after the typical new acoustic guitar break in period) the tone was fantastic. The guitar sounds great plugged in, including the soundhole cover they provide you can also play at some pretty loud volumes while keeping feedback at bay. The electronics on this are great, I play through a Marshall AS50 and it just sounds fantastic. I played some other 12 strings prior to choosing this one and this one stood out. I do not think there is a better acoustic-electric 12 string for under $1,000. In fact, this guitar compares pretty favorable to the Taylor 354e and the Martin Performing artist models that I tried. Like most Yamaha acoustics (other than their basement priced models), this is seriously undervalued. Like many other 12 strings, they do require a bit more trouble than your typical 6 string acoustic, I usually leave mine tuned 1/2 step down, and if I do tune it to concert pitch, I always detune before storing it.

(Acoustic Reminiscence Transducer) technologyYamaha gripping acoustic guitars have consistently used piezo pickups to breed the pure sounds of the acoustic guitar. But piezo pickups tended to dramatize to changes in hit, which in turn caused distortion. To grasp ideal playability, we had to boost the way that these dynamics were top bolt from the blue.To grant a key to this issue, the new raise up was calculated with a multilayer organize consisting of six layers of uncommon equipment. This dampens unnecessary trembling from the soundboard while alternative up small resonances to grasp ideal sensitivity and outstanding dynamic weigh.
